Mental health and addictions team providing mental health wellness services that are culturally safe and trauma-informed for members of the urban community who self-identify as having Aboriginal ancestry Child and Youth Services - working with children and youth 6 years of age to 24 years of age. Also work with parents, families, caregivers and child protection professionals in providing culturally safe mental health services. Adult Services - available to individuals 25 years of age and older experiencing mental health issues / psychosocial stressors that are interfering with mental wellness Services Include: trauma-informed care intake and assessment counselling wellness planning and ongoing maintenance support service coordination and referrals advocacy for appropriate services when needed play therapy sand therapy skills training for children and families ASIST suicide intervention cognitive behavioural therapy solution-focused brief therapy mindfulness practices Mental Health Youth Patient Navigator - available to provide support to youth ages 15-24 who need support in navigating and accessing service and who are transitional aged Services Include (but not limited to): advocacy provide pathways to promote healing through holistic approach ( physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) assisting with Navigating the Health Care System navigation/accessing services and programs linkage to specialized services for Mental Health & Addictions accompany youth to their medical appointments (upon request) assist with social determinants of health that impact an individuals mental health (i.e. identification, housing, food security, life skills) Presentations available upon request on relevant mental health topics
