COVID-19 (19 October 2021): Due to COVID19, several changes to services offered. Hospice residence remains open with safety precautions, continuing to admit screened patients at low risk of COVID19. Community programs, volunteer services, day hospice program, in-home support and bereavement programs are cancelled. Coordinators will continue to check in with clients by phone and email and provide support virtually.Companionship, respite care, and emotional supportHome Support Program: initial visit by a community nurse for assessment and referral volunteer visiting for companionship and practical support respite for families up to four hours per week telephone support caregiver supportDay Hospice Program: weekly social interaction with peers variety of activities including art, cads, board games, music emotional support respite for caregivers weekly nurse assessments and communication with physicians as neededHospice Residential Care Program: 24 hour residential care in a home-like and peaceful setting when being at home is no longer possibleFamily Support Program: helps family members and friends care for someone diagnosed with a life-threatening illness bereavement follow-up available individual basis or in group settings for adults, youth and childrenBereavement Support: support through the grieving process by staff and trained volunteers drop-in groups partner/spousal support groups retreats group walks counselling information and referral
