Serves as the health and social services administration office Administers the community health centre and community-based health programs Oversees the Niigaaniin (Ontario Works) program and community social services Receives advisory services from a Steering Committee Collaborates with the Sagamok Elders Council and Youth Council to gain direction and advice with regard to critical community issues relating to elders, youth issues and health/social issues Lobbies with external organizations and governments for the development of Health and Social ServicesNorthern Ontario Remote Telecommunication Health (NORTH) Network Provides medical specialists, consultations, continuing health education and patient education to rural and remote areas in Ontario using two-way television Helps patients gain access to medical specialists Reduces the need to travel to receive care
