Support Groups

Providing children and youth with special needs the tools to thrive both inside and outside the classroom, and helping their parents navigate the local education system, are among WRFN"s highest priorities.Successful collaboration between home and school, involving transparent and open communication, can be the key to a student"s success. WRFN helps facilitate the process, offering: A monthly support group for parents of children with special needs who attend school, where real-life experiences, tips and strategies are shared Workshops in partnership with the local school boards, and Support for parents who are preparing to attend school meetings Can also attend school meetings with parents, if requestedAlso a member of the Waterloo Region District School Board and Waterloo Catholic District School Board Special Education Advisory Councils, acting as a liaison for local families.
