    The Elizabeth Fry Society is an organization dedicated to serve women from all walks of life, not only those in prison. It provides a safe, healing environment for strength and regrowth. It defends the rights of women, while working to ensure fair treatment in the criminal justice system. Above all, the society views women not as objects to be dismissed, but as human beings who can make a positive contribution to our society.

    Women of all ages are referred to the our organization by officials working in the criminal justice system including lawyers, medical professionals, social workers, social assistance workers, and by community-based organizations and agencies. We provide assistance to women involved in the criminal justice system and those at risk of coming into conflict with the law. We provide practical and effective support services for women incarcerated in provincial and federal institutions, and for women in Nova Scotia.

Eskasoni Crisis and Referral Center

    Provides 24-hour crisis intervention and referral services by phone and in-person. Provides emotional, social and education support. Assists individuals with referrals to counselling and helps to navigate agencies and services.

Eskasoni Mental Health Services – Adult and Youth Clinical and Therapeutic Support

    • Mental Health Counselling
    Offer individual, group, marital, and family clinical/support services for Indigenous adults and youth. This program also offers parenting programs, interventions for domestic violence and life skills education. Offers extended care services to Indigenous youth and young adults who are aging out of foster care.
