Encourages participants to accept and work with distressing thoughts and feelings in hopes of improving coping skills, supports, resources and individual resiliency
Discusses healthy coping skills for individuals experiencing sadness, grief, loss, anger, depression, and anxiety
Aims to bring together and empower individuals who have had similar experiences with the hopes of increasing quality of life
Consists of 8-10 participants with 2 group facilitators who specialize in trauma, therapy, and group support

Offers the Men"s Health League, a volunteer peer-to-peer support group for Black men to spread key health messages to other men in the community through social and physical activities. Promotes the health and wellness services of the Nova Scotia Brotherhood health care team.

Youth Mental Health
The Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers (NSASW) is the professional and regulatory body for social workers in Nova Scotia. It helps ensure that all social workers are practicing within accepted standards, and helps advocate and promote the profession of social work. "Social work is a profession concerned with helping individuals, families, groups and communities to enhance their individual and collective well-being. It aims at helping them develop their skills and the ability to use their own resources and those of the community to resolve problems. Social work is concerned with individual and personal problems but also with broader social issues such as poverty, unemployment and domestic violence."

Youth Mental Health
NS Early Childhood Development Intervention Services (ECDIS) provide province-wide specialized services to families of young children between birth and school entry, who either have a biological risk for or a diagnosis of, developmental delay. Consultation, information, support and services designed to meet the individual needs of each child and family are delivered in the child’s home and may extend to community based programs. Services emphasize the enhancement of skills and abilities through planned interactions to promote child development and family capacity.
