All mental health and addiction services are accessed by contacting the Mental Health and Addiction Centralized Intake line: 1-877-329-0005.
Services include:
Mental Health and Addiction Services (General):
For individuals with significant and or severe mental health concerns.
Includes assessment, counselling, consultation, case management and referrals. Group counselling may be available and specialized services may be offered.
Adult Mental Health Services:
For individuals 18 years of age and older affected in significant ways by a mental disorder, severe stress, or other problems in living. Requests commonly come from people who have depression, anxiety, eating disorders, severe stress reactions, or adjustment difficulties.
Child and Youth Mental Health Services:
For individuals in kindergarten – age 18 years. Concerns may include but are not limited to aggressive/oppositional behaviour, anxiety, depression, impacts of abuse, self-harm/suicidal ideation, and trauma.
Addiction Services:
Provides a range of programs for individuals dependent on alcohol or drugs and individuals impacted by someone’s dependence on alcohol or drugs.
Programs include individual or group education and treatment, harm reduction, and more.
Rehabilitation Program:
Works with clients who have experienced a significant loss of social functioning due to a mental health disorder.
Psychology Services:
Provides comprehensive assessments of all aspects of a child’s or an adult’s mental, cognitive, and neurological health.
Psychiatry Services:
Provides evaluation, diagnoses and medications for those with significant mental health needs in clinic and inpatient settings.
Inpatient Program:
Includes a 10-bed acute inpatient unit for clients with severe mental health needs.
Rural Services:
Provided mental health and addiction services in several communities, including Shaunavon, Maple Creek, Leader, Ponteix and Gull Lake. In Leader, a Primary Health Care Counsellor is also available to provide brief interventions and services to Adult and Rehabilitation program clients.

Provides support for parents and their children who have not yet entered school, who are developmentally above or below average, or who have common behavioral problems. Works with both the preschooler and the parent to help the child manage his or her developmental problems.

Offers a 10-week group for families and friends of people affected by a mental illness. Provides an overview of mental illness and substance abuse, main features of illness management, basic communication skills and ideas to help families care for themselves.

Suicide Crisis Line: Call Healthline at 8-1-1
Entry to all outpatient programs and services (treatment without being admitted to a hospital) at Mental Health and Addictions (MHAS) is through the Centralized Intake program.
Responds to all initial requests for mental health and addictions information or services from individuals, family physicians, family members or community agency members.
Program staff will briefly discuss concerns with the referring person and, in conjunction with Clinical Leads for each program area, determine the appropriate response to the service request. Referrals may be assigned to a program area at MHAS or one offered by another community agency.
Priority for service is determined by intensity of service required.

Provides assessments and a range of mental health and addictions treatment interventions to children and youth whose ability to function day to day is significantly impacted by their level of mental health and/or addictions issues.
Requests for service may include depression, substance abuse, anxiety, eating disorders, family difficulties, abuse, and grief.

Offers groups and workshops for youth consisting of psychoeducation, management skills, and parenting support. Referrals to workshops and group services are screened through Centralized Intake at (306) 691-6464.
All participants must be registered as space is limited. Participants are asked to commit to the complete workshop and are not able to join once it has started. Participants are not able to be referred to more than one group at a time.

Provides assessments and a range of voluntary mental health and addictions treatment interventions to clients whose ability to function day to day is significantly impacted by their level of mental health and/or addictions issues. Requests for services may include depression, alcohol, drug use, gambling, anxiety, eating disorders, family difficulties, abuse, and grief. Individual, family or group services available to spouses and other family members who have been affected by someone else’s drinking, drug use or gambling behaviour.
