Support Groups
Provides support to pregnant women and teens who are at risk of having low birth weight babies. Program includes nutritional and health counselling, referrals to other community services, peer support, and weekly lunch, drop-ins, classes, and social activities. Serves Carcross.

Provides primary health care, emergency care, and acute care services to assess and treat medical conditions. Community health programs include prenatal and postnatal care, health education and promotion, immunization clinics, and communicable disease testing (sexually transmitted infections (STIs), hepatitis B, and HIV). Nurse practitioner is on call 24 hours for emergencies and serious illness only. Serves Carcross. Centre hours are 8:30 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; on call at other times for emergencies.

Dawson Women’s Shelter
Support Groups
Offers a wide variety of supports to women and their families during pregnancy and up to two years after the baby"s birth. Regular luncheons, drop-in, workshops and outings are held to promote resource and information sharing, and to develop a support network. Funded by Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) as a Canadian Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP). Hours are 12 noon to 6 pm Monday to Thursday.
