Welcome to Simcoe Peer Support for Mental Health & Addictions. We are a self help peer support and resource center for people who have or are experiencing mental health and addiction issues, including Substance and Alcohol abuse. If you are feeling down, alone or anxious. Our mission is to provide and promote wellness and recovery for people that have experienced or are experiencing mental health and or addiction issues. We accomplishes this through peer-support, advocacy, self help and building partnerships within our Community.

Youth Addictions

Educates the general public on mental health; develops local support groups; advocates on behalf of all consumer/survivors.   Services include: * Support to those disadvantaged due to mental illness and/or addiction and seeking employment; * Emotional support; * Encouragement support through self help; and * Promotion of self worth. * Resources and information on medications, illnesses and community supports * Resource library with computer access.   Programs include: * Peer Support Groups; * Depression Group * Concurrent Disorders Group * Friday Check In Group and more * Various social groups and activities. No waiting period.

Youth Addictions

Simcoe Outreach Services is an agency, funded by the Ministry of Health, to provide counseling to individuals and their families experiencing problems with alcohol and other drugs as well as gambling problems. We provide assessment, referral, and counseling to individuals in Simcoe County whose primary concern is related to either their own, or someone else"s use of alcohol, other drugs, or gambling ( eg. families, couples ). Services are free and are offered by appointment only.   Simcoe Outreach Services has offices in Barrie, Alliston, Collingwood, Midland and Orillia.

Support Groups

Peer support provides a supportive peer environment, where an individual can gain skills and the self confidence needed to overcome barriers. Groups such as the Diabetes Information Group (monthly), Friendship Café, crafts, pole walking, games night, golf in the summer, curling in the winter.Also offers one-on-one support (by appointment), assistance with self-advocacy, information and referral and assistance filling out paperwork.

Crisis lines

A women and children"s shelter that provides support in many areas including Therapeutic Counselling, Housing, Legal Advocacy, and programming for Children and Youth.Services include: Therapeutic Counselling Transitional Housing and Legal Support Program Children"s Program Youth Program 24 hour Crisis Line for support Shelter Program
