Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre
Mental Health
Assists women to access services and benefits, and to access information needed to make informed choices regarding finance, legal issues, social issues, housing, and employment. Liaises between women, government agencies, and community organizations; supports women in navigating systems; and offers supportive counselling to women facing difficult times. Hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday by appointment or drop-in.

Addiction
Provides services to children up to age 19 in temporary or permanent care including assessment, counselling, ongoing planning, and placement in a caring and nurturing environment. Also offers special services and treatment to meet the mental, emotional, and physical needs of these children.
Yukon Hospital Corporation
Crisis
56-bed hospital provides acute care services to assess and treat medical conditions. Provides 24-hour emergency services, diagnostic services, intensive care, convalescent care, and rehabilitation services. TheSecure Medical Unit (SMU)provides inpatient assessment, observation, care, and support for patients with a mental health diagnosis (often in an acute phase of illness). Also offers specialty outpatient clinics and educational programs for medical conditions and chronic diseases. Acts as a regional referral centre for the Yukon and for rural nursing stations. Serves the Yukon, northern BC, and parts of Alaska. OperatesMedivac, a medical evacuation flight service that picks up or drops off patients within the Yukon, Alaska, Northwest Territories, or northern BC.
Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)
Mental Health
Regulates registered nurses and nurse practitioners in the Yukon. Duties include registering nurses, setting standards of practice, addressing complaints about registrants, and assisting nurses and other stakeholders to understand and apply the standards of practice. Website has an online registry of all registered nurses and nurse practitioners, and a form to submit complaints. Also offers free mental health and wellness support (including nutrition guidance) to registered nurses and nurse practitioners through Telus Health MyCare. Nonprofit society.
Teen Parent Centre
Support Groups
Provides support to pregnant teens and teen parents. The education program assists teens to complete high school at F.H. Collins Secondary School or the Individual Learning Centre, or by taking online courses. Provides free daycare for infants and toddlers. Other services include nutrition education, prenatal classes, breastfeeding classes, parenting and child development support, drug and alcohol recovery support, and life skills improvement. Also offers a weekly women"s support group; call for more information. An interview is required for registration with the centre. Funded by Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) as a Canadian Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP). Nonprofit organization.
Skookum Jim Friendship Centre
Support Groups
Offers weekly drop-in meetings from 12 pm to 2 pm Wednesdays, to support Aboriginal parents in making healthy choices that give their babies the best possible start; includes lunch and an educational discussion or activity. Provides prenatal and postnatal information and social support, nutritional counselling, breastfeeding support, food/vitamin supplements and vouchers, a lending library and a clothing exchange, community kitchens, and literacy programs. Serves anyone who is pregnant or has an infant up to one year of age.
