Youth Mental Health

The Central Saskatchewan Military Family Resource Centre Inc. (MFRC) enhances the quality of life in Canadian Forces communities by supporting  personal, family and community development.   Services and programs include:   Personal development and community integration; Separation and reunion; Child/youth development and parenting support; Prevention, support and intervention (PSI) which includes crisis and short-term counselling; Volunteering and other opportunities.

Mental Health Counselling & Mental Health Treatment Services

Offers individual emotional support via online chat; service provided by trained volunteers. Does not offer distress or crisis services.

Offers state-of-the-art play, art and sand therapy space that can be utilized for children, families and adults. Call 306-525-0521 and ask for an intake counsellor to access any of the therapeutic methods. Sand Tray Therapy Gives children, families and adults the opportunity to create and build therapeutic spaces within a sand tray with a counsellor’s guidance. Art Therapy Consists of using a variety of mixed methods related to creativity and imagination. it includes painting, clay moulding and drawing, music, writing poetry and playing musical instruments.

A counselling service for families in crisis when youth are 16 to 17 (similar to the RIFT Program offered at Catholic Family Services). When the parents are available and willing to attend along with the teen, the focus is on negotiation to resolve conflicts and establish a living together contract. Service will be provided to the youth alone when the parent(s) is unavailable, so that a stable and healthy living situation can be established. Fill and send a referral form to referral@cfsregina.ca.

Offered by a contractual agreement with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services (MSS), Family and Youth Services, Youth Unit. Provides quick access upon referral from the Youth Unit and covers five family counselling sessions.

Provides counselling for individuals, couples, or families on issues such as: Family/Couples Relationship Difficulties Separation/Divorce Depression Stress/Anxiety Self-Esteem Parenting (all development stages) Bereavement Emotional Distress Trauma Adaptation/Transition to Life Circumstances. They serve people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities. No one is turned away because of finances. Provides client guided and individualized in-home support services to families with children under the age of five. Program emphasizes family preservation and prevention while reunifying children with their family whenever safe and possible.

An intensive family home visiting program for families. Focuses on reducing risk and capitalizes on the strengths within families to prevent the removal of children, reunite children with their families, as well as keep children in family’s care and preserve the family unit. Each family is matched with a Support Worker who will remain connected to the family for the longevity of their time in the program. NOTE: The Family Support Program requires a contract as well as a referral form if being referred throught the Ministry of Social Services.
