Youth Addictions
Individuals struggling with stressors such as relationship/marital issues, parenting, substance abuse and addictions, mental health related (depression, anxiety, psychosis) learning disability and other related issues. Ideal client comes with issues that are affecting them emotionally, which can be viewed as an emotional infection affecting their well-being. The goal is to explore the cause, find out what is causing the emotional infection and provide solutions. There may be permanent emotional scars, however the emotions will be healed. COVID-19 Response During the COVID-19 Pandemic, staff are working remotely and full services are available. Messages can be left on office numbers and are retrieved daily on business days. New referrals are being accepted. Will assist service users with technology needed to access our programs if this is a barrier. Women, trans and non binary folks who have experienced sexual assault can receive crisis and long term counselling through phone or online support. A new live chat service is available through mpssas.org Regular ServiceOffers a Sexual Assault Helpline and various sexual assault services including: referral and advocacy counselling court, police, or hospital accompaniment services public education and community development Other programs include: Sexual Assault Therapy program for individuals 16 years and up, and their families, who have suffered the trauma of sexual assault including crisis intervention. Individual and group therapy. Community education and referrals and consultation with other stakeholders. Sexual Assault Intervention for Living (SAIL) program provides individual and group therapy to women, trans and non binary survivors of sexual abuse/assault. Model of service is feminist psychotherapy utilizing numerous attachment informed and mindfulness based approaches. This is a four stage group based program. Survivors begin long term counselling programs through a three workshop series - SAIL 1. They do not have to share their name or information about their selves in the workshop to begin, they will become familiar with the program first. SAIL 1 is run three times yearly. Also offers Survivor to Survivor - a peer mentoring program. Survivors of sexual assault can be paired with a trained Survivor Mentor who will offer individual support in the community - contact for more information. Presently has a pilot program for male survivors of sexual assault - call for more information.

On-site early intervention and crisis intervention, needs assessment, safety planning, referrals to community services, enhanced support for vulnerable victims and assistance with applications to VQRP+.Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) -- assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including home safety, accommodation, meals, transportation, basic necessities, dependent care costs, counselling, traditional Indigenous health services, cellular phones, vision care, dental care, aids for victims with disabilities, interpretation services, crime scene cleanup, government/medical documents and funeral expenses. Additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes storage locker, tattoo removal, and treatment at a recovery facility. No direct reimbursement to victims for support listed above. Financial support also available for victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime and for parents of child homicide victims and spouses of homicide victims.Family Court Support Worker Program -- Information on the family court process. Assistance in preparing for family court proceedings (documenting history of abuse, accessing Legal Aid). Referral to specialized services and supports in the community, safety planning and court accompaniment to proceedings when appropriate
