The Mothers of Newborns Program at the YMCA is designed to provide new mothers who have had a child in 2022 with an easy and safe path towards health and wellness while creating a network of support and belonging.Program participants will have access, at no cost, to:• Facilities in both the Cobourg and Brighton Y sites to participate in group fitness, including training equipment and the pool at the Cobourg Y.• Ten hours of Playcentre child care free to the mother to use the Cobourg facility or participate in programming.• Specialty classes designed for mothers and newborns, including Mom and Baby Yoga, Water Baby Bootcamp, Pilates and Strong Bodies for Mom• Additional programs developed through partnerships with Northumberland EarlyON, Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit, La Leche League Northumberland, and Northumberland Hills Hospital, to provide social networking opportunities, resources and support.

A free program intended for individuals, ages 13-30, who experience mild to moderate anxiety, stress, and low mood learn techniques to help you to effectively cope with stress and anxiety best suited to those for whom anxiety is the primary concern curriculum is based on Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and includes education about mindfulness, mindfulness techniques and self-compassion participants are encouraged to self-select to be part of the program, independent of caregivers or other external support(s) a diagnosis or referral is not necessary in order to participate occurs weekly, for 7 weeks, and each session is 90-120 minutes long includes a free gym membership at the YMCA Oakville to promote the use of physical fitness for mental wellbeing

We offer counselling services for youth and young adults ages 14-29, in a supportive environment where youth can receive help and guidance about issues that are important to them. We address issues such as: * emotional, physical and sexual abuse * homelessness * teenage pregnancy and parenting * drug/alcohol abuse by individual or family member(s) * family or peer relationship concerns * youth who are involved in the Criminal Justice System Support is also provided in the areas of life skills and independence preparation. We also run a Youth Employment Counselling Centre.

An education harm reduction program geared towards children and youth ages 8-24 years old. The purpose of the program is to create awareness among children and youth about various choices they can make surrounding gambling activities. Provides presentations to school groups, youth centres and parents and professionals that work with youth upon request. Can also provide Curriculum Support Packages for teachers to use with students in Grades 3-6, 7-8 & 9-12.

The YMCA Youth Gambling Awareness Program (YGAP) is a collaboration between the YMCA of Greater Toronto and 18 local YMCAs, consisting of 19 Youth Outreach Workers (YOWs) across Ontario. The program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Goal: To implement a prevention and education program designed to raise youth awareness with regards to gambling, healthy/active living and making informed decisions. Approach:We do not make value judgments regarding gambling; rather, we see it as an activity that people may or may not engage in. Through harm reduction, we aim to support young people to make healthy decisions about gambling. We Serve: The program addresses the needs of youth ages 8 to 24 and people who influence and work with youth living in the province of Ontario. Services are free.

The program provides Educational Services such as group meetings or presentations about substance use Individual Counselling about substance use problems Peer Mentoring to help youth learn more about the harms about drug use.
