Youth Mental Health
Without our services provided, many economically-disadvantaged Nova Scotians would not have their individual rights and freedoms and the rights and freedoms of their children protected.
It is important to ensure that Legal Aid clients have the right to a fair hearing in a court of law. Staff Lawyers assist thousands of clients every year and they spend a majority of their time in court.

A toll free peer support phone line for people with mild mental health or substance use concerns.
Phone line is staffed by trained peer supporters, who have personal or family-based lived experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges.
Provides social and emotional support, reassurance and encouragement to people who are feeling isolated, alone, anxious, concerned, or who need support and to talk to someone.
Reasons for calling can be anything from having a tough day at work, feeling down, struggling with supporting a loved one, going through a rough patch in a relationship, etc. Please note: The phone line is
NOT intended for people who are experiencing a crisis.
Service is delivered by Mental Health Innovations and funded by the Government of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Health Mental Health and Addictions Program.

Provides short-term emotional support to callers from all around the province. Takes call-ins and offers peer support and information on local resources.
Accepts regular calls from people who use the service as part of a formal self-care plan.
Also offers a senior safety call-out program where volunteers call lonely and isolated seniors around the province.

Offers adults grieving the death of a loved one a confidential time to share their concerns, triumphs, and day to day experiences, while walking through Point Pleasant Park. Trained facilitators guide discussion during the meeting. Attendees will be encouraged to maintain appropriate physical distancing while walking if unable to wear a mask.
