Support Groups
Visiting hospice volunteers provide companionship, respite care and emotional support, in-home and virtually to people living with a life-limiting illness, their families, loved ones, following interview with Coordinator of Volunteer Services * bereavement support is available on an individual basis or in a group setting for anyone who is experiencing anticipatory grief or has experienced the death of a loved one, facilitated by case manager * massage therapy sessions are offered to affected persons and their caregivers following assessment by case manager

Support Groups
Raises awareness of Barnardo orphans and wards. Provides information and helps find ancestors who were Home Children. Tours of points of interest connected with Children of Barnardo are available, along with a lending library of Barnardo reading material. The organization helps any Home Child from any group find their family history. Responsible for new monument dedicated (September 2011) to all children who passed through the Hazelbrae Home. Monument is located at the former Queen Alexandra School, 180 Barnardo Avenue, Peterborough.

In person crisis services
The Sunrise Centre at Headwaters Healthcare Centre is a Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Centre with the Ontario Network of Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centres. This centre provides resources, support and treatment for all victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.Specially trained Forensic Nurse Examiners provide care in a private space, offering: assessment and treatment for injury, pregnancy, and sexual transmitted infections private interview room for individuals who choose to meet with police or provide a video statement to police Follow-up visits both virtually and in-person. referrals to community partners for counselling and other supports collection of physical evidence that can be used at a later date if the individual chooses to pursue legal action.The centre includes an area for children and volunteers to sit with children while their parent/caregiver is receiving treatment
