Helplines & Mental Health Treatment Services
Offers telephone support and counselling to trafficked persons and anyone else affected by trafficking. Also provides information on human trafficking as well as information and referrals for community resources and reporting options if the caller is unable or unwilling to contact the police.Sex workers are also able to use the line to report bad date lists and speak with a counsellor who after taking the report can offer support. This support can be declined or accepted at the discretion of the caller.

Youth Addictions
Dr. Konomi offers psychological assessments for a variety of purposes (vocational, diagnostic, treatment-planning, disability related, and forensic) and treatments for adult (age 16+) individuals and couples. She has helped many people with various life challenges. With her forensic background, she is also well experienced with providing psychological services to those on the “both sides of the bars” (i.e. police officers, people with criminal charges, etc.)
Dr. Konomi’s treatment is tailored to each patient’s needs. She is trained in a variety of psychological intervention modalities, including cognitive-beahavioural, solution-focused, existential, Adlerian, and psychodynamic. With Dr. Konomi’s non-judgmental, friendly, and compassionate approach, patients can feel comfortable to freely discuss their source of distress that are often hard to talk about. She is also well known for her easygoing communication style with a good sense of humor, which makes many younger patients and those who are “doctored-out” feel at ease in the treatment room. Many patients who start out the session with tears come out of it with big smiles at the end!

MacGyver is a psychotherapist, researcher, and clinical educator that specializes in the exploration of diversity in family dynamics, sexuality & attraction, gender & identity, acculturation & migration, and social justice. He identifies as a postmodern and poststructuralist clinician that is informed by a wide array of therapeutic modalities with a particular emphasis in Narrative Therapy. As MacGyver enjoys research and learning, he is also influenced by strengths-based perspectives, attachment, and neuroscience.
Outside of the clinical setting, MacGyver enjoys life through eclectic tastes in music, video games, comic books, film, reading & writing, photography, visual & digital art, sports, and the exploration of cultures, languages & cuisines.
MacGyver has a history working in non-profit mental health and is a faculty member at the Windz Centre for Brief and Narrative Therapy Training. MacGyver is also a clinical supervisor at Your Story Counselling and supervises our masters-level therapist interns who offer sliding scale and reduced fee options.
