Reaching out to the community by initiating support calls and monitoring office telephones Monday - Friday. If emotional support is required as a result of living with or caring for someone with dementia, contact the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth at 519-271-1910 or EMAIL.Advocate and promote the development of support services, education, and research for those affected by Alzheimer"s disease or other dementia and their caregivers.Services include confidential home or office visits, family support, training classes, Bereavement Group, Caregiver Education, Caregiver one-on-one counselling, Caregiver Support, Caregiver Support Group, First Link Navigation, In-Home therapeutic recreation, Minds in Motion/Social Recreation, Person living with dementia (PLWD) support group, PLWD Education (Taking Control of our Lives and Learning the Ropes) Public Education & Awareness and presentations to assist businesses to support employees caring for a loved one.Volunteer opportunities are available in a number of areas. Fundraising activities include the annual Soup"s On in January, the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer"s in May, and World Alzheimer"s Day events in September. Memorial donations may be made at any time.

Monthly support groups are held in various communities: Clinton, Exeter, Goderich, Grand Bend, Listowel, Seaforth, St. Marys, Stratford, and Wingham. Information and discussion to help care partners and family to support individuals living with Alzheimer"s disease or other dementias. Additional groups are specific to care partners of a person living with dementia in long term care, and a bereavement support group for care partners who have lost a loved one in the dementia journey. Provides support services for client and care partner.
