Offers a wide range counselling services for Deaf and hard of hearing people and their families. Counsellors have training in social work, psychotherapy, and related fields, and have specialized expertise in dealing with issues specific to Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Community Mental Health Centers
A community-based program offering counselling and case management services to individuals with serious mental illness or concurrent disorders. Social work staff assess mental status, needs, and abilities to assist individuals in developing a plan and setting realistic goals. Skills training, referrals to community resources, and advocacy are provided as required. Provides long-term intensive case management to individuals diagnosed with a combined or co-occurring substance use disorder and/or gambling disorder and serious mental illness.Goals of the program are to: Reduce the likelihood of re-hospitalization Use appropriate community resources for client"s maximum benefit Develop greater independence in areas of self-care, life skills, community and professional involvementEmergency or crisis services not provided. Community Mental Health Centers
Provides alternatives and options for individuals experiencing serious mental illness who become involved in the criminal justice system. This program is comprised of three components: Mental Health Court Diversion Education regarding consumer issues, mental illness, mental health services, and the mental health system Connects persons considered appropriate for diversion to access services and supports Provides consultation to the judiciary on cases referred for diversion Provides consultation for persons not deemed suitable for diversion Support and information for family members and significant others Intensive Case Management Provides services to individuals who are not eligible for mental health court diversion Helps support individuals with a serious mental illness, a concurrent disorder, or a dual diagnosis Provides outreach, court support, and support plans based on identified need in order to prevent further involvement with the criminal justice system Connections to longer term case management services, rehabilitative programs, medical treatment, accessing appropriate financial entitlements and appropriate housing Support and information for family members and significant others Release from Custody Program Provides short-term assistance to individuals being released from correctional custody to facilitate a stable transition Connections to longer term case management services, rehabilitative programs, medical treatment, accessing appropriate financial entitlements and appropriate housing Support and information for family members and significant others Consultation for people who are not deemed suitable for diversion Supportive counselling

Crisis lines & In person crisis services
Provides telephone support and mobile intervention to persons who are in crisis and have a mental health concernmobile team of mental health professionals and specially trained, plain-clothed police officers may also visit to help those in crisis remain safe in their own environment and connect with ongoing care

Court Support: for people who have a mental health and/or addiction concern and are accused of an offence * help patients get the mental health and/or addictions support they need while they are in the midst of court proceedings, such as the community treatment court
Release from Custody: help people to reintegrate back into the community in a safe and supportive manner

Youth Addictions
The Canadian Mental Health Association is a national, non-profit, charitable organization consisting of provincial bodies which are further divided into local branches.
The Peterborough Branch is managed by a Board of Directors comprised of community volunteers. Funding is provided by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Community and Social Services, Ministry of Housing, United Way, foundations, private donations and fundraising initiatives.

Organization promotes community-based services responsible to the needs of those with mental health concerns, their family members, and the general communityServices offered include: Community Support Case Management Program - provides intensive case management supports to people with serious and persistent mental illness Specialty Case Management - including concurrent disorders (mental health and addictions), complex needs (dual diagnosis / acquired brain injury), urgent needs (needing immediate, non-crisis supports), and Transition (referrals/transition from hospital) Counselling Program Court Support Case Management & Diversion Program - assist individuals with a mental health issue who come into contact with the criminal justice system. Provided in partnership with the office of the Crown Attorney and provide assistance with mental health court diversion, community-based case management, as well as consultation and information Crisis Stabilization Bed Program - provides 6 beds in a safe and secure environment for individuals coping with an acute mental health crisis. The focus is diversion from hospital and stabilization in the community and the stay can be up to 7 days Family Support Families Caring, Families Sharing support group Mental Health Promotion & Education Program Peer Support Supported Housing - affordable housing to low-income individuals. Monthly rent is geared to the tenant"s income. Transitional beds available to allow residents temporary housing while they proceed on a gradual transition to independent living.
