Drugs-Alcohol-Gambling Counselling
-
Program that is available in communities across the province to prevent the transmission of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV that is spread by sharing equipment to inject drugs. The program is a harm reduction initiative and offers services such as: needle exchange with safe needle disposal, immunization counseling and immunization, vein/wound care, sexual health counseling, health teaching to support optimal health, referrals to other care providers, Naloxone kits for people who are at risk of opioid related overdoses, and detox information.

Peer support group where participants can talk about ways to deal with social pressures, diet culture, the media, our relationship with our body, food, eating, and exercise, and more. The same people come each week, so participants and facilitators have the chance to get to know each other. Participation is encouraged, but not mandatory. Group is facilitated by 2 peer mentors who have completed Eating Disorders Nova Scotia"s specialized training.

Offers BounceBack Coaching, a free mental health program based in cognitive behavioural therapy designed to help adults and youth manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Participants work with workbooks and a trained coach to help build skills to improve their mental health. Coaches provide support and encouragement, answer questions and keep participants motivated over 4-6 telephone sessions. Also offers BounceBack Today Videos, a series of online videos that provide practical tips on managing mood, sleeping better, building confidence, increasing activity, problem solving and healthy living.
