Family worker program is a socially oriented program that works in partnership with the Ministry of Social Services and Child Family Services to provide services to the person of sufficient interest and their families. Addresses issues such as poverty, addictions, housing, child rearing, cross cultural issues, legal issues, mediation counselling and more. Makes referrals when necessary.

Offers a number of online informational videos for survivors of sexualized violence. Videos feature SSAIC staff and cover topics that would typically be covered in Open Group Sessions. Counsellors discuss particular topics and recommend exercises that can be done at home.

All counselling services are free of charge
Offers online counselling services as well as in-person. Walk-ins accepted

Provides wâhkômâkanak (relatives/individuals) with access to support services through an Indigenous Model.
Helps participants develop skills and access supports to address barriers they face to permanent housing.
Provides ongoing support once participants are in their home to help them cope with barriers that may arise, from basic life skills to severe addiction issues.
Provides connection back to a larger case management team or support services.
Focuses on whole health (Medicine Wheel and traditional teachings), encompassing the balance of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of self, family, community, and creation.
Includes culturally specific and holistic interventions (openly expressing unique beliefs, values, and ways of knowing, being and doing, identity, language, traditions, ceremony, connection to land, and relationships).

Provides long term “home based” support for wâhkômâkanak (“relatives”/individuals) who secure housing. Home Visitors deliver direct supports in the home, ensuring they have access to resources and supports necessary to maintain their housing. Support is provided in matters relating to housing, physical and mental health, addictions, advocacy, justice, income support, and employment. Services include:
Initiating and maintaining regular and long term intensive in home support,
Establishing a voluntary and trusting relationship by providing regular contact through home visits,
Crisis management and support,
Advocacy,
Assistance with life skills, budgeting, home maintenance and upkeep, renter’s rights and responsibilities, food security, and rent security, and
Assistance in accessing resources and making referrals.

Supports and guides individuals from Member First Nations through their mental wellness and addictions journey using a holistic approach that encompasses each segment of the medicine wheel (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual).
