Services include: Assessments: helps determine how individual’s alcohol and/or drug use (or someone else’s use) may be causing problems, and what solutions are available. Free individual and group counselling for: Adults seeking help for their own alcohol and or other drug related problems Adults who are affected by a family member’s substance use.

Provides community education, prevention and intervention services upon request to schools, service clubs, parents, professionals and anyone wishing further information on alcohol and/or other drug issues.  Topics can include: Impairing effects of alcohol Phases of alcohol addiction Chemical dependency: the feeling disease Marijuana Crystal Meth Other drugs Alcoholism and the family Adolescent stages of use Basic principles of intervention Enabling behaviours. Programs are offered free of charge and can be tailored to suit your needs.

Services include: Individual and Group Counselling Alcohol and Drug Assessments Referral Services Recovery Planning Relapse Prevention Counselling Intervention Programs.

A range of services are available for individuals over the age of 5; provided by health region and in cooperation with various non-government community organizations. Services available include: Brief Therapy (one-three sessions for sudden and intense stress related to a specific cause) Individual Counselling (one-six sessions) Psycho-Educational or Treatment Groups Alcohol/Dug Detox (information, groups, links to resources, Naloxone kits, needle exchange program) Mental Health First Aid Courses Recovery Services (for individuals requiring ongoing support and life skills training) Mental Health Approved Homes (residence and assistance to people living with long term mental illness) Psychiatry (outpatient clinic and 15-bed inpatient unit).

Mental Health Counselling

Offers a 6 week group program for grieving teens who have experienced the death of someone close to them. The death does not have to be recent and could include the loss of a family member or friend.

Crisis Intervention & Drugs-Alcohol-Gambling Counselling

Offers a day program for youth who experience mental health and substance use concerns that utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, and additional interventions. Provides support for approximately 1-2 semesters until the youth can reintegrate back into school.
