A non-profit agency dedicated to improving the quality of life of people in the Niagara Region who are affected by epilepsy. Epilepsy Niagara provides support services, education and public awareness to all persons living with epilepsy and their support network throughout the Niagara Region.

Community Mental Health Centers & Support Groups

Peer support group for individuals and their families who are affected by a mood disorder and whose main purpose is to gain a better understanding of the illness, to offer non-judgmental support and to share experiencesThe focus of monthly meetings is wellness through education and sharing guest speakers include individuals who live with a mood disorder, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers and specialists in nutrition and relaxation video presentations by medical specialists or professional documentaries open discussions no registration or membership required all those affected by a mood disorder are welcome refer to the Mental Health Services offered by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Halton Branch for more information

Youth Addictions

Equilibrium is a Toronto-based mental health and wellness centre (operating virtually and in person) offering individual therapy, group therapy and a variety of additional wellness-focused services in a warm and welcoming environment. We are here to help with a variety of challenges. Some of these include: Difficulties regulating emotions Anger Substance use Impulsive behaviour Relationship difficulties Grief and loss Low self-esteem Identity confusion Day-to-day stress Borderline Personality Disorder PTSD or trauma Eating disorders/body image issues Anxiety Depression Chronic pain or insomnia We implement a variety of treatment modalities including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE), as well as mindfulness and compassion based approaches.

Youth Addictions

L’Équipe psycho-sociale pour enfants et familles francophones de S. D. & G. is recognized as a mental heath agency operating under the authority of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. L’Équipe has a Board of Directors responsible with the guidance of its operations. Services have been provided since August 1980. We offer a variety of programs designed to respond to the needs of families that are living and coping with mental health difficulties. Operating costs are assumed by the provincial government, therefore free of charge. All of our services are offered on a voluntary basis. Applications (referrals) for assistance may be submitted by parents, adolescents, health professionals, the judicial system, the Children’s Aid Society, and any other community agency. In person crisis services & Addiction Treatment

Offers fast access to medication-assisted therapy for both alcohol and opioid use disorders. Services include: brief support/referral for individuals not currently connected to addiction recovery services and resources Immediate access to an addictions assessment, a counselor and a doctor treatment plans based upon opiate replacement therapy / approved drug therapies and relief from withdrawal symptoms Home detox Work with hospital emergency rooms to get treatment for opioid and alcohol dependence illness without delays Relapse prevention program and ongoing access to services
