Support Groups

A support program for individuals experiencing divorce or separation. The 13 week program includes videos and discussions on topics ranging from anger, depression and loneliness, finances, and caring for your children, to forgiveness and moving forward.

Offers telephone counselling services to youth and families who are dealing with mental health or substance abuse problems.

In person crisis services

Provides immediate counselling to male and female sexual assault victims up to the age of 18 and their families; Member agency of Support Services Network for Male Survivors in Ontario

Crisis lines

Provides a 24 hour telephone support and crisis service to callers who are struggling with any type of issue or are having thoughts of harming themselves * volunteers lend a listening ear, provide reassurance, support, and information and referral within Sarnia and Lambton County

Psycho-educational and support group for foster parents, adoptive parents or kinship caregivers of children who have, or are suspected of having, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).Psycho-educational GroupsA 10-week program that assists in understanding and managing the needs of individual they are caring for. Provides information, resources and discussion. Includes weekly themes, educational presentation and supportive discussion.Support GroupsMonthly follow-up to psycho-educational group in order to maintain and build on the information and skills developed. Participants have the option of coming to any or all of the ongoing support groups.

Youth Addictions

We offer professional and confidential counselling services that are based on the goals that you seek to achieve. Some of our areas of expertise include: youth in transition; grief, loss and coping; anxiety and depression; art therapy, EMDR, mindfulness; increasing self esteem; child witness; interpersonal relations; family and parenting issues; communication and conflict resolution.

Adult Addictions

Supports family members and friends of those living with mental health difficulties, by providing support through education, training and system navigation (i.e. where to find help).

Community Mental Health Centers & Support Groups

Offering coping skills support and education to families who have a relative with the following mental health issues: depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and/or schizophrenia.Coping skills groups meet virtually and there is no charge to attend. Groups are for family members and significant others who are providing support to the ill person. Groups run throughout the year and may resume in person in the future, in St Catharines, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Welland.

Youth Mental Health

Helps families in Ontario receive the financial support they are entitled to by enforcing court ordered support responsibilities.

Community Mental Health Centers

A children"s mental health service that links individuals and families with appropriate local resources to assist children and youth who may be experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties. Assistance can be particularly useful if the complex needs of an individual require a response from multiple service providers. In that situation, KIDS Team can help to coordinate access to the necessary supports.In fulfilling its role, KIDS Team staff work collaboratively with other service providers to develop and monitor a comprehensive community service plan that has been designed to meet the identified needs of the child or youth. Also, if there is a need to augment existing ministry-funded services with additional supports, KIDS Team has access to a limited amount of provincial funding that can be utilized to purchase these resources.
