New Moon Psychotherapy is a team of Registered Psychotherapists and Clinical Social Workers offering evidence-based trauma focused, couples, and sex therapy. Trauma We treat post traumatic stress and related difficulties such as anxiety and depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use and addictions, and non-suicidal self-injury and emotion dysregulation. We work extensively with survivors of sexual violence including childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault/rape, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and sexual harassment. Couples We support couples experiencing a variety of difficulties ranging from pre-marital counselling to those considering divorce. Frequently discussed topics are improving communication, trust, and connection in the relationship; differences in values and priorities; family planning and fertility; managing anger, resentment, and recovery following infidelity; and helping couples navigate the impact of trauma and/or mental health on the relationship. Sex Therapy While frequently a source of shame, stress, and discomfort, sex is actually supposed to be fun. We have a sex therapist, sex educator, and sex coach on our team to offer specialized support in this area. Our sex therapists support individuals experiencing sex related problems such as erectile dysfunction, painful intercourse, as well as sex and porn addiction while the sex educator and coach can help you reconnect with positive sexuality to strengthen your relationships and improve your quality of life. We work with individuals and couples of all sexual orientations and gender identities, and cultural backgrounds. We also provide inclusive and affirming care to those who are neurodivergent and polyamorous/ethically non-monogamous.
