Support Groups

Community of people dedicated to bringing hope and building connections between people in downtown Barrie work to empower people to overcome chronic poverty by addressing homelessness, food insecurity, and addiction Hope Centre is a meeting and gathering place and the base of operations for programmes and services, including a food pantry and community programmes host weekly worship Sunday evenings at 7pm Groups offered include: Addiction Recovery Mental Health Support Bible Studies Women of Hope group Men of Hope group Support Services include: Counselling Mentoring Life Skills Meal Programs including Grocery assistance for anyone facing food insecurity Free Food Fridays provides non-perishables and fresh produce, and often even meat and cheese and dairy Basic Needs Referrals

Addiction Treatment & Addiction Counselling

Services offered at this location include: Baby"s Best Beginnings for women with addictions who are pregnant or parenting children 0-6 years of age individual or group addiction treatment counselling pregnant women have priority access to a residential treatment bed at Hope Place Centres: Women"s Residential Addiction Treatment in Milton (12 step and abstinence based) outreach counselling may be available to women in their homes and/or community P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S Family Program provides individual and family and group counselling for people affected by another person"s alcohol and/or drug use call 905-465-3324 ext 104 for more information Staff at the Outpatient Centre in Oakville are available to make presentations about Hope Place Centres" services Hope Place Centres also operates 2 residential treatment centres: Hope Place Centres: Men"s Residential Addiction Treatment Hope Place Centres: Women"s Residential Addiction Treatment

Addiction Treatment

Offering a 42 day live-in, integrated stage one trauma and addiction treatment program for adult men (18+ years) who live anywhere in the province of Ontario Program consists of: Group therapy Individual counselling Living skills Relapse prevention Alcohol and Drug education Relationships Discharge planning Trauma integrated, gender-responsive and 12 Step based Family members, friends, and community members are welcome to attend HPC"s Family Program for infomration and support.

Addiction Treatment

A 33-day integrated addiction and trauma residential treatment program, in a caring community setting where women"s unique needs, experiences and situations are recognized in the complexity of alcohol and/or drug addiction. Clients experience an intensive recovery process based on the philosophy of 12-step programs. the program addresses the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of addiction participants work through addiction-related issues building healthy relationships effective communication skills women also participate in leisure activities including yoga, meditation and swimming family and friends who wish to visit are required to attend a psycho-educational family group session called "Steps to Self Care" visitation will follow the session if the above requirements are met

Centre offers support to anyone faced with an unplanned pregnancy variety of free and confidential services staff and volunteers provide fact-based information, advocacy support, mentoring and practical assistanceServices include: one-on-one client advocacy for men and women on-site self-administered pregnancy test prenatal support post-natal support postpartum support post-abortion grief support and recovery adoption information and referral information on STDs and STIs Growing Hearts Program (weekly mom peer program) Eye Spy Squad (Infant-preschool toddlers of moms in Growing Hearts program) Practical Fatherhood initiatives various workshops on topics such as Parenting and PreNatal Care Closet (practical assistance) referrals

Offers one-on-one counselling, couples counselling, family counselling, child(ren) with parent(s) and caregivers counselling through the phone or using Zoom video conferencing software.
