Support Groups

Offers peer and volunteer support for people who have been impacted by grief, while participating in gentle physical exercise. Beginning with a warm-up, followed by outdoor trail walking for up to two kilometers, and ending with stretches, led by the facilitator.Indoor walking is available in cases of inclement weather and during the winter season at the site location.

Family-centred care program designed to assist those diagnosed with a terminal illness or a life limiting illness (chronic disease) Support is provided to individuals and families in home, hospital or nursing home Volunteers provide companionship, assistance with light household duties, and simple comfort measures Bereavement support and grief programs include one-on-one support, monthly caregiver-support groups, and ongoing social support groups. Youth Addictions

The Department of Psychiatry at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) provides interdisciplinary, family-centred care for children and adolescents with mental illness. As part of an academic health sciences centre, we integrate research, teaching, patient care and advocacy to advance knowledge about mental illness and promote evidence-based practice in supporting children"s mental health.

Assertive Community Treatment program (ACT) community-based, recovery model of care for individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness reaches out to clients where and when they need help (in home/community) inter-professional team of healthcare workers including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, therapeutic recreation and vocational rehab therapists
