The Ontario Seniors" Secretariat develops a wide variety of programs and services to meet the needs of seniors and help them live safe, active and healthy lives. It also builds partnerships with seniors" organizations across Ontario , and guides the development of policies and programs across government, on behalf of seniors. The Secretariat has developed A Guide to Programs and Services for Seniors in Ontario to bring together in one document the wealth of programs and services provided to Ontario seniors by the government, as well as by community organizations and service providers.

Youth Mental Health

The Ontario Women"s Justice Network (OWJN) promotes an understanding of the law with respect to violence against women, providing accessible legal information to women and their supporters in a manner that reflects the diverse experiences and realities of women.   OWJN has 1) legal information for women, how to get legal help; 2) relevant information for women like you; 3) information about getting support, with listings of community services, organizations and resources.

Community Mental Health Centers

Program assists people with disabilities in finding sustainable, competitive employment or to helping to realize self-employment. A person does not need to be in receipt of ODSP in order to be eligible for Employment Supports.Employment Supports Include: job preparation and job search assistance employment and training start-up benefit child care costs work related benefit transitional health benefit employment transition benefitTransition Child Benefit is available for those not receiving the Ontario Child Benefit or the Canada Child Benefit.Contact or visit the website for more details about ODSP benefits.

Mental Health Counselling & Mental Health Treatment Services

Offers distress intervention for individuals in need of immediate mental health support. Services are also provided to family, friends, and professionals seeking assistance in supporting an individual. Services are confidential, operate 24/7, and include referrals and follow up support.

Youth Addictions

Serving children, youth (up to aged 18) and their families who are having difficulties in their lives. Our qualified counsellors can work with you in a variety of ways; individually, as a family, or in groups. All of our Counsellors are trained in a variety of evidence informed practises such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and Solution Focused Therapy. Some have more specialised skills such as EMDR, Family Therapy and Intergenerational Trauma Treatment. Services available: Individual counselling (counselling available without your guardians" knowledge); Group therapy; Sexual abuse treatment; Family services; Referrals and assessment; Quick response worker available for crisis situations; Public education.   Services are publicly funded and therefore free for families.   Offices in Smiths Falls, Carleton Place, Perth and the North Lanark County Community Health Centre.

Open Doors is there for children and youth, 0-18 (and their families) who are having difficulties in their lives. The counsellors at Open Doors work with children, youth and families to try and solve problems early on, before they become more serious.Open Doors believes in treating people with respect and dignity regardless of race, religion, culture or sexual orientation. We also believe in working in partnership with children, youth and their families. All of our services are free and confidential.   Services available: Individual counselling (counselling available without your guardians" knowledge); Group therapy; Sexual abuse treatment; Family services; Referrals and assessment; Quick response worker available for crisis situations; Public education.   Funded by the Ministry of Community, Family and Children"s Services to provide help to children and youth up until age 18.   Offices in Smiths Falls, Carleton Place, Perth and the North Lanark County Community Health Centre.
