Support Groups

Support Groups

Promotes public awareness of osteoporosis Provides ongoing support for individuals interested in methods of risk reduction or treatment of this disease, including monthly support groups Bone Health 101 presentations for community groups, service clubs and retirement communities for those wanting to learn more about osteoporosis. Those seeking support should call the store"s main line and ask for Richard or come to the store to speak to support staff.A non-profit, volunteer-based group dedicated to providing education and support for individuals with an ostomy and their families. Use trained visitors for one-on-one support or monthly meetings. Dedicated to the rehabilitation of Ostomates through mutual aid, moral support and education.

Youth Addictions

The Ottawa Addictions Access and Referral Services (OAARS) is the gateway to health services needed by persons aged 16 and over who are concerned about their alcohol or drug use and need help. This service is offered in French and English. OAARS acts as a navigator in the health care system to help its clients obtain the appropriate services. It conducts summary assessments and directs clients to services in the Ottawa area based on the needs of each person. OAARS also provides information and support services.

Support Groups

Support group dedicated to individuals or families affected by anaphylaxis (a life-threatening allergic reaction) or severe allergies to food and other products support and education about anaphylaxis promotion of allergy awareness in and around the Ottawa-Gatineau area quarterly meetings to provide opportunities for formal and informal discussion internal group forum allows members to communicate with each other

Community Mental Health Centers & Support Groups

Virtual clinic focusing on care in the areas of anxiety and psychological trauma including: acute stress post-traumatic stress disorder dissociative disorders clinical assessments consultations specific therapies group therapy for anxiety disordersSupervision and teaching for other professionals with special interests in these areas research activities of the members will continue, with a focus on assessment and therapyThey are a multidisciplinary team comprised of: psychologists psychiatrists social workers psychotherapists

Community Mental Health Centers & Support Groups & Addiction Treatment

COVID-19 (2 Aug 2022): in-person service remains available, but clients may connect via tele-therapy if they prefer.Outpatient assessment and treatment of psychological concerns and eating disorders for adults and children includes anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, body image disturbances and weight management problems treatment plans are developed in collaboration with clients and are designed to fit each individuals needsIndividual Therapy: cognitive-behavioral approach eating disorders marital and relationship problems anxiety depression a variety of other common psychological and stress related problems

Youth Addictions

OCFR is a mental health centre for childhood trauma & dissociation, attachment, adoption, and high-conflict families for Ottawa and surrounding areas. We enjoy working with hard to reach, at-risk children, youth and families. We work with those struggling with disruptive behaviours, self-regulation, attachment, and sexual behaviour issues related to histories of adverse childhood experiences, complex developmental trauma, adoption related issues, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and involvement with the child welfare and/or criminal justice systems. We also work with issues related to divorce including: co-parenting, high-conflict families, and reunification.
