Crisis lines & In person crisis services

COVID-19 - The CKSACC business office is currently closed. Support and Advocacy Workers are taking appointments by telephone. The 24 hour Crisis Line is still in operation as well: 519-354-8688. Women wanting to access support can phone the Crisis Line to be referred to a Support and Advocacy Worker. Women who have accessed services in the past (and are looking at returning), or are seeking new services are asked to call the Crisis Line to set up an appointment.Short term and long term counselling to victims of sexual assault.Provides 24 hour crisis line and 24 hour accompaniment to Kent Sexual Assault Treatment Centre.

In person crisis services

On-site early intervention and crisis intervention. Provide assistance with applications to the Victim Quick Response Program Plus (VQRP+).Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) -- assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including home safety, accommodation, meals, transportation, basic necessities, dependent care costs, counselling, traditional Indigenous health services, cellular phones, vision care, dental care, aids for victims with disabilities, interpretation services, crime scene cleanup, government/medical documents and funeral expenses.Additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes storage locker, tattoo removal, and treatment at a recovery facility.No direct reimbursement to victims for support listed above * financial support also available for victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime and for parents of child homicide victims and spouses of homicide victims.

Peer support groups, education, and training for family members, service providers, and caregivers * sessions may include information such as advanced directives and safety issues

Provides a prevention and early intervention service for infants and young children from birth to school entry who have a physical and/or developmental disability, or are at risk of a developmental delay.Services include: treatment consultation support to families through home visits specialty learn and play groups throughout the city

In person crisis services

Provides leadership within the hospital and community in protecting children and youth (under 18 years). Major emphasis on the provision of specialized medical and mental health services to children, youth and families where abuse or neglect is suspected or evident.Components: consultation and co-ordination for hospital cases of suspected abuse and neglect assistance with urgent assessment and treatment through the Emergency Department medical assessment and follow-up in a specialized outpatient clinic (Historical Sexual Abuse Clinic) case review by the multidisciplinary inter-agency Child and Youth Protection Team case consultation to community professionals community and professional education regarding abuse and neglect research and publication related to child abuse and neglect partners in development of services and prevention programs advocacy on child abuse issues

Youth Addictions

Provides counselling and therapy services to individual and couples focused mainly in the area of anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, parenting consultation and autism support. Fees may be covered by extended insurance.

Adult Addictions

I provide psychotherapy for adults and seniors. I provide individual and family counseling using a Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). My specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD) and substance use. In using the SFBT approach, we are always searching for solutions instead of always talking about the problem. In addition, I provide Substance Abuse Evaluations. I also provide online or e-counselling.

Offers comprehensive services to child amputees and their families. Provides: financial assistance for artificial limbs and various recreational devices emotional support through programs such as Matching Mothers, regional seminars, and peer support. Children who are missing multiple limbs may also qualify for enrolment in JUMPSTART.
