Adult Addictions

I provide psychotherapy for adults and seniors. I provide individual and family counseling using a Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). My specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD) and substance use. In using the SFBT approach, we are always searching for solutions instead of always talking about the problem. Solutions, Solutions and Solutions. I also provide psychotherapy utilizing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBSR). In addition, I provide Substance Abuse Evaluations. I also provide online or e-counselling.

Offers comprehensive services to child amputees and their families. Provides: financial assistance for artificial limbs and various recreational devices emotional support through programs such as Matching Mothers, regional seminars, and peer support. Children who are missing multiple limbs may also qualify for enrolment in JUMPSTART.

Community Mental Health Centers

Early intervention services to families who have infants and young children with developmental, behavioral and/or mental health challenges developmental services provided for children up to the age of five years or school entry, and mental health services up to age six services offered in homes, in licensed child care centres and in other early childhood settings as well as at the agency office Resource Consultants provide consultation and coaching and may access support from other disciplines in agency including speech and language services, occupational therapy services, social work counselling, psychology, consultation with child care centres Seminars are open to the community and participants do not need to be currently involved with the agency Groups are offered to children, families and the larger community. These groups can be a method of treatment, a way to support the child and family, or an opportunity to connect with other parents Social Work counselling, with a focus on a child or family"s immediate need, may be available on a short-term basis through our brief service program

Drugs-Alcohol-Gambling Counselling & Mental Health Counselling

Offers family general counselling and other supportive services to families. Services include assessment of the strength and needs; referrals to community resources, and in-home services to provide assistance with parenting skills, child development, and child and adult mental health, addictions, and family conflict.

Crisis lines

Investigates allegations of child abuse or neglect under the Child and Family Services Act * provides children brought into the care of the agency with temporary or long-term care through placement in foster homes, kinship homes, group homes or institutions * ongoing supervision, counselling and group support to families * referrals to other community services for families requiring non protection child/family services * handles adoptions and adoption disclosurePRIDE (Parent Resources for Information, Development and Education) - Pre service training program for prospective foster and adoptive parents * identifies the challenges and opportunities of caring for children and families facing difficultiesFamily Violence (0- 18 years) - Promotes safety * group and one-on-one counselling for women and childrenPartner Assault Response (PAR) (13-18 years) - Specialized counselling and educational services for people who have assaulted their partners * court ordered programMen Accepting Responsibility to Change Program (MARC) - The Partner Response Program for men is a 12 week psycho-educational program for people who have used violence and abuse towards their intimate partner including a spouse or or partner. Victims/partners of the individual referred into the program are provided with support including safety planning, referrals to community resources, and updates about the group member progress.Oxford Child Witness Program (7-18 years) - Court preparation and support for children, teens and their familiesChildren Exposed to Family Violence (0-16 years) - Group that introduces children to the idea of healthy, non-abusive family relationships, helps them understand that they are not to blame for the violence within their home and works to increase self-esteemWomen"s Focus Group (13-18 years) - Counselling services to women who have experienced a violent relationshipTeen Dating Violence Forum (13-18 years) - Opportunity for teenage girls to reach out for help

Mental Health Counselling

Provides individual counselling and support for at-risk youth.

Community Mental Health Centers & Support Groups

Mental Health Counselling

Offers the opportunity to meet with a counsellor for up to four (4) sessions within a two (2) month timeframe. A brief treatment plan will be developed outlining the goal of treatment, the key strategies and the outcomes to achieve the identified treatment goals.Offers a First Connection Service, whereby all clients seeking service can attend a single session of therapy within 7 days of completing their Intake.

Crisis Intervention

Offers residential treatment and counselling services in a therapeutic living environment to youth dealing with serious mental health problems. This program runs for 90 days and children are re-assessed at regular intervals to determine if a treatment extension is required. The program also assists youth to successfully transition back into their family and community.
