An internationally recognized psychiatric hospital and forensics research facility located on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay in the Town of Penetanguishene. Waypoint provides an extensive range of both acute and longer term psychiatric inpatient and outpatient services to all of Simcoe County, part of Dufferin County and the southern portion of Muskoka/Parry Sound. In addition, Waypoint provides the province’s only maximum secure forensic mental health program for clients served by both the mental health and justice systems. The hospital is recognized for the provision of exceptional care to those most needing mental health services and for its contributions to the understanding of mental illness.

Adult Mental Health

Provides advocacy services to in-patients at the 10 major mental health facilities in Ontario, serving patients in both the civil and forensic (not criminally responsible) mental health systems. It is the only service in Canada which provides province-wide, full-time advocacy services within mental health hospitals.

Weechi-it-te-win serves 10 area First Nations communities located in the Rainy Lake District of Ontario. The agency was created out of the collective wisdom of the 10 Chiefs of the Rainy Lake Tribal Council. Its purpose was to combat the destructive practices of mainstream child welfare agencies within the 10 First Nations communities.
